Jacqulyn Lehrian

I’m Jacqulyn “Jackie” Lehrian, a multidisciplinary artist based in Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, working in oil, egg tempera, watercolor, and textiles. My practice is grounded in observation and research, often beginning with quiet looking, close reading, or time spent with materials that hold memory. I’m drawn to slow, tactile processes—layering, stitching cloth, mixing egg yolk with natural pigments—and use them to explore the relationships between memory, labor, and place.

In addition to my studio practice, I work as a teaching artist - rooted in care, curiosity, and access. My philosophy celebrates experimentation and process, offering space to explore art-making as a tool for creative thinking, connection, and self-expression.

Whether painting a shoreline with thread or leading a sensory-based art session, I work with attention to the overlooked and everyday—inviting others to slow down, look closely, and find meaning in the materials, the process, and delight in everyday places and objects.
